I am going down probaly after lunchtime so if anyone would care to join me? If you want to go later and be there when its dark even better but its always best to reccy the place with a bit of light first. (So you know where the holes in the ground are and where the ducks nest ;D )

The 15th is fine with myself and DrJones as long as its in the afternoon as we both work till one oclock on Saturdays. Pics, daylight reccy (always a good idea), bite to eat and then vigil sounds good to me. I'd liked to be at the airfield when it starts getting dark. It'd be really spooky .
I'm not too bothered about going to the museum. It'd be good to visit it at some point but I prefer to kinda go cold so to speak and not have too much information on the site and the people linked with it.
Definately want to pay the other sites a visit. It'd be cool to see a spirit of a bear. I'll keep my picnic basket well hidden

In view of the planned visit to Midhurst - here's a bit of information regarding the Spread Eagle Hotel in the town - in case anyone fancies paying a visit One resident staying in the Queens Suite was woken one night to hear the sound of fingernails scratching along the floor under the windows. He asked to be moved to another room in the middle of the night. Another resident woke to see a black figure over the bed. One resident was found early in the morning sat in the conservatory, so terrified that he couldn’t spend the night in his room. The ghosts of a grandmother and granddaughter are supposed to haunt the bar below. A visiting chef was woken one morning by someone rolling over in his bed, telling him it was 6am and it was time to get up. He got up, dressed, rushed down to the kitchens, only to discover that it was actually 4.30am. He’d been alone when he went to bed…<br> There have also been stories of unexplained tapping sounds and a murder victim who appears from a closet to the left of the bed.

I know The Spread Eagle quite well ... very nice comfortable smart bar area. There are some nice suits of armour in the corridors too, but probably not genuine.

Hi I've known it was supposedly haunted - but never been in there - although I do know of a Sussex based group that had quite a few things happening when they did an investigation there a while back!

What's the plan for Saturday? As I mentioned there is a large car park behind the Tourist Information Office, so perhaps we could meet there?

I was thinking of setting off either 1pm or 2pm. 1pm would be better as once we factor the Geoffsam law of time and space physics we would set off at 1:30pm
I can hear chairs being lined up... ;D
So shall we say meet down there for 2:30? Should give us a few hours of light to take pics and get a feel for the place.

Harstwood just reminded me, is anyone still interested in doing somewhere in Midhurst enroute? If so it would mean an earlier set off time I think.

I'd really like to be able to do something on en-route to Midhurst but if it means leaving earlier you'd have to count Geoff and me out as there is no way we can leave work any earlier the 1 o'clock, I'm afraid

Why don't we aim to be at Tangmere at 2.30pm-ish then, and anyone that can make it a bit earlier could just stop briefly at Midhurst en route? I'd like to see the ruins of Cowdray House. That should give us plenty of time at the airfield, as it isn't really that large, and what with the museum not being open as well. (There is a pub just up the road!) Although I suppose we could get to Tangmere later than 2.30pm?

That sounds like a good idea Teresa. To be honest I've just started recovering from my sudden trip to Wales at the weekend and haven't really sorted out a plan for this Saturday. I've been a bit fuzzy headed the last couple of days . I haven't spoke to Steven yet on what his plans are as to whether we are all going together like we did for Netley or not. I like to pay a visit to Cowdray House if possible though.
