Has anyone here ever used one of these and had any interesting results? I have always avoided using them and wondered if this was the same for others as there does seem to be a dark association with the board and the occult etc
Are they a viable means of communication or are people who use them asking for trouble?
Are they perfectly ok under the right conditions/enviroment with protection etc?

Cant believe no one has anything to say about using Ouija boards? No dark tales of how the glass flew off and smashed or how a head appeared in the middle of the board with an evil grin?

I myself dont use these boards as i believe you arent in full control of what might come through, i have heard of cases where evil entities have come through and in some cases resulting in exorcism, i look at it like this if you leave your front door open anyone can come in off the street, if you lock your door you control what comes through, i feel its the same with ouija. A lot of people see ouija as a bit of a giggle after a few drinks at parties etc, but they can get out of hand, theres some bad experiances with these things. Best Wishes Big C.

I have always been with that line of thinking but recently I have spoken to people who have used them, even within circles at spiritualist churches and they feel that under the proper conditions the board is a valid form of communication.
Personaly speaking I still dont like the idea of inviting any old spook, Dick or Harry in but then again what controls other than a spirit guide does a medium have when he asks if anyone is there to step forward.
Would the guide or guides not protect the users of the board? I just wonder how the mechanism is different.

Ive never attended any spiritulist church that would entertain a ouija board myself, the medium works with their guide to control what comes through, also the medium can exert a control himself/herself.

I have recently used a board at a private location in Guildford. Our group got some pretty impressive results, with the information recieved through the ouija was verified after the sitting. May i just also add that a ouija can be very safe to use, also it can be very dangerouse too!! You must allways use them with great respect. I personally always thank the spirits for allowing me to contact them this way, and thank them for any cotact they give.

As some of you will know, these boards were used last Saturday night at the Red Lion. It was the first time I had used one, but to be honest we just seemed to get gibberish from them the same letters were spelt out at one point in two different rooms. I'm not convinced any spirit was involved. At least I can say I've now tried it.

The group we were in with Miracleman had some interesting results with the board and in the Avenue room it got very interesting so Im still open minded about it. I wasnt too worried though as when it got a little hairy I looked over towards Zack and she was snoring away So if anything was going to get the hump with us Im sure her spidey senses would have sprung into action ... ;D

Spooky - did you feel uneasy using it though? Or do you you feel it's just another form of communication?

Funnily enough I felt fine Maybe we were lucky we did have children communictaiong at one point. As I mentioned it got a bit hairy in the other room but Miracleman knew how to use the board and I think by shutting it down and having a circle of people believing it is closing, it was ok.

Similar situation in our group, where at one point Mark (Webby) closed the board down quickly, as the planchette was moving to all four corners of the board, which is supposed to denote an evil spirit! I suppose I was quite glad that he'd had plenty of experience with ouija and obviously knew what he was doing. Funnily enough I also didn't feel at all bothered using it, maybe because of using a glass in a seance previously. Perhaps if I'd jumped straight in at the deep end it would have been different.
