This is a well known haunted site and its also very easy to arrange a vigil.
The best time however is from 2am onwards as this seems to be the most active time though its good to get there before hand and get set up.
I personaly have experienced a spirit lady, an oppresive pounding or stomping from the floors that used to be above and both Paul and I have seen a flash of light we cant explain plus numerous orbs. There is of course the picture I took earlier in the year which is on the main site under the diary section which is also very interesting.
Any takers?

My hand is up for this one too. I had my first visit to King John's Castle recently and I wished I'd been up there sooner. There is a definite atmosphere there. its local & certainly active. Here's a picture we got from the trip. Definite orb activity there and much more ;D

Why dont we get this one arranged & do it soon. We can then discuss some of the larger venues & how to approach them. I will check my human diary (Katie) and post when Im available so that we can get the ball rolling. P.S If im unavailable for the said dates when making arrangements... Change them! (Im still bitter about the ghost walk)

Where exactly is it? Kelly and I took a drive over there yesterday and couldn't find it, there were no signs or anything that we could see. We got directions from an old couple and think we may have found the road to it but the sign said not suitable for motors and there was nowhere to park at the top so we didn't go down there.

Seriously though coming from the M3 if you drive on down the main road past the swan pub you will come to a roundabout. Take the very last turning off (before doubling back on yourself) and you come down an old lane. Take the first right, which is a very tiny one way lane and follow it all the way to the canal. Park up on the side of the road and cross the foot bridge and turn left on to the footpath. The castle is about 15mins walk along the path.

One way to be sure you are on the right path is there will be a half sunken canal clearing boat thing on the opposite side of the canal. If you see this you are on the right path.

I think thats the lane we found but didn't think we could drive down it, is there a ford down there? Anyway I'd love to go there so we'll have to sort something out.

Are we doing this the same night as the Abbey then?
Does anyone have the foggiest when that might be?

Don't know If I'd fancy doing both on the same night now I think about it. After our interesting visit to the Castle I was planning on doing something similar at the Abbey for my next social event, going over there in the afternoon and dowsing and stuff then staying on till it gets dark and then off to a pub somewhere, I'll try and fit that in with one of you saturdays if your up for that Steven. Then perhaps we could do King Johns Castle another night! Mind you if you guys are going to do both on the same night then I guess I could just meet you for one of the locations. Anyway I'll let you know soon about any PF events.
Cheers, Simon.

Yeah sounds good.
We were discussing a similar thing last night. It would be good to do the Abbey again as its easy and local and not very scarey so good on the nerves ;D but I dont know about leaving when it gets dark, thats when it gets interesting ;D

I didn't mean as soon as it gets dark, but leave in time to grab a drink somewhere, well that was just an idea we had for the next PF social/mini vigil type event!
