Well, I've visited Derby Gaol, albeit in the day-time. It's an interesting location, but I've a feeling it's a trifle over-rated, and it is very, very small in there!!
Would be worth finding out I suppose how much it would cost to hire though, I'll check out Richard Felix's website, there's a link there I think. ;D

north bucks has visited derby gaol
along with essex pararnormal and dave scanlon from hampshire ghost club
and we were greatly disapointed by what we found
as hartswood said it is very tiny and hugely over rated and over priced
how they expect to get 30 people in to this place is mind boggling, as there were 10 of us and we were trippping over each other
and at the end of it all we found nothing, of any great importance
it was a dead loss
i'm not saying don't go, as that is your right to go if you want to
but in our groups opinion
the money could be spent else where at a much better location

Thanks for the advice Julie Like I said, I only visited in the daytime, but was surprised at how small it was and I gather there often isn't a lot happening there!! Maybe you're right in that the money would be better spent at another more active location! ;D

i don't want people to think i am being a killjoy or anything
but this is what north bucks experienced at derby
other groups may have more luck
it is just a lot of money to pay, to get no action

I thought it was just a mock up of the original Jail which was down the road? Forget where I read it but I thought it was a bit strange at the time that there were all these crims in there when it was just someones basement...

I think, or so I was told, that it is the original gaol, although I remember being told it was a nightclub for many years, and a lot of the internal structures were removed, and then put back when it became a "gaol" again!

it seemed more like the wine cellar of the buildings that are on top of the gaol, that are now used as offices
after all the dividing walls between the cells are made with house bricks
and the toilet facilities were none to clean either, and you have to pee by candle light or by torch
because they don't turn the lights on lol
we never had the meal or tour so it made it cheaper
but that was just our experience
it may be different for other people
