Hi Jules, How big is it? We went to Chiselhurst a couple of weeks back and it was massive. Have you been to Hellfire caves? How does it compare? Must admit Im looking forward to going as there is something very ancient about caves, obviously We found halliggye fogou last year. That one messed up little hole in the ground. Lots of spiders as well

Hi, I live near Kents Cavern and have been to the Ghost walk but not the Fright Night. I think that you will enjoy it. I am part of a Paranormal Group based in Torbay. Also you might like to visit Berry Pomeroy Castle while you are in the area, I think that you will find that very interesting!!

Hi Darkfaery,
Thanks for posting. I have been to Berry Pomeroy a number of times and your right it is a great place with some interesting stories surrounding it. I have been talking on and off to one of the descendants of the Pomeroy family who now lives in the states and she had a lot of questions about the castle as she had never managed to get over her self.

Hi Spooky, Yes, it is a very interesting place and the woods that surround it are equally as interesting. Many people have encountered different entities on the lane that leads to the castle. There have been sightings of female spirits, monks and hangings reported on the lane. For myself I get the feeling of guardians. There are guardians watching and waiting among the trees there and these are very ancient. I have the feeling that they were there long before the castle. There is something very special about the woods and forests all round that area.
They have opened up another part of the castle now. It is to the left as you walk under the arched gatehouse and is where the kitchen area was. When you stand in this area it gives a whole new perspective on the castle. Interesting.

I know the woods, somehow we managed to get lost in them last summer following the lanes down towards the farm at the bottom of the valley and back up again. Mind you my navigation was never very good.... Have you read the paperback book the ghosts of berry pomeroy castle?

Hi, I do have a copy of that book. We have a page dedicated to Berry Pomeroy Castle on our website which has lots of photos of the place. There is some residual energy there but there is also a communicative energy and then the 'old' energy that frequents the woods. One of our members is building a site dedicated to the castle and the tales surrounding it. It is still under construction but the forum is up and running and is free to join. If you have any interesting tales to tell of the place he would be grateful to hear them.
If you are coming to Devon to look at the Castle again let me know and we will arrange to meet up with you. It will be closed at the end of the month but maybe next year.

We have a few snaps, links and some ramblings on our site here. www.ghosthaunted.com/thereport.asp?SiteName=Berry+Pomeroy+CastleDefinitely interested in seeing the new site when it is up and running. What I do find interesting is the more you look into the history of the castle it seems it was just more of a hunting lodge and a bolt hole for the Pomeroys as they also had the family house in town. They also didnt really own it for that long so makes you wonder what they got up to up there or what went on before the castle was there to cause the hauntings. Will have to revisit again if they have now opened up a new area. I had heard the kitchen was supposed to be one of the more active areas so should be good.
