Right I think its time for a new ideas thread. We need to inject a bit of life back into the place and if anyone has any ideas as to how please get posting. Dont hold back ;D
For example. Should we join up with another group? Should we get somebody in the team, volunteers?, to maybe make some calls and start arranging some events? Anything you can think of lets have a "brainstorm" ;D
I know Sam and I are heavily involved with PT but its seems a shame that we dont do stuff anymore with just us guys...

Yes, I think it'a shame also that our "in-house" (so to speak investigations have dwindled away.... I certainly would like to ressurect the Jack The Ripper Walk that seems to have been aborted twice! ;D

Hi Jules,
Sorry if that sounded a bit moany. Sadly there is no group, I was looking for some ideas to liven the place up, with a view to one day forming one.

Before I joined here, and for a while after, you had quite a good, active group didn't you Spooky? It seems people move on and lose interest..which is a shame!

groups in milton keynes have got the local newspaper involved with their investigations
and have advertised on their forums for new members
because a lot of people look on forums to see if they are recruiting, we are doing it at the moment, and it is normally very successful
and you also need a small local and cheap place to investigate and open it up to all forum members and forum guests
you usually get a good response
and also look for investigations by groups in your area and ask if you can join them, very rarely they say no, we have joined essex paranormal on many investigations, they are a really experienced group.
when new people join the forum welcome them with their own thread it makes people feel noticed and want to come back
scour other forums and see what members are doing on theirs and borrow ideas
i did that with ours when it first started
hope that doesn't sound to bossy
i'll think of some more

Thanks Jules for some good tips there. We only need one little spark to get it bubbling away again. Yes Hartswood back in the day, well a couple of years ago now he he, we did have quite an active litte group but I dont think its so much losing interest but sometimes enough is enough for some people and you go back to enjoying life and stop focusing on whats next. Sort of constantly wondering whats for pudding when the main course is actualy very good. So thats got to be healthy. Trust me to get a nice dinner reference in there. Always thinking of my stomach

Also I think one of the problems is that to a lot of folk ghost hunting (if that's what you want to call it is just a passing fancy...it's only certain investigators with plenty of stamina that keep going! ;D (Not saying I'm one of them! )

Programmes like Most Haunted are a lot to blame... OK they have brought the paranormal more to the fore...which can't be bad, and got people interested that maybe wouldn't have been otherwise, but they have also made "haunted" venues realise what a money making business "ghost-hunting" can be...
