If this place isnt haunted I give up.... Cowdray House is a large and imposing Tudor stone courtyard fortress, square in plan with a range of buildings encasing its inner courtyard. Built on the moated site of a 13th century strong house, the north and south ranges have been reduced to their foundations. The west range has a central three storey great gatehouse, flanked by octagonal corner turrets, while the impressive east range, contained all the principle rooms and the detached kitchen block, which survived the fire that destroyed the rest of the house in 1793. To the south-west on St. Ann’s Hill is Midhurst Castle and 4 miles east is Lodsworth Castle. www.castleuk.net/castle_lists_south/197/cowdrayhouse.htm

Spooky I have seen this place and I think I am correct is stating that it is private property belonging to the Cowdray family who own most of the property in the surounding area. Easily seen as they all have doors/windows painted in yellow. They probably own Midhurst Castle too. (Posting this into the linked posting called "Midhurst Castle, Midhurst")
