This might be an interesting spot to visit?:
The area in Binsted Woods, near the old pond, are eerie and subject of a mysterious legend - two small children are supposed to have drowned in the pond and and coach and horses reputed to have driven into it. The pond was dredged in recent years, but the machinery used got stuck and the bottom never found... Another group experienced some very strange activity, including the "vanishing car"!
I'll have a look and see exactly where it is.

The woods are just south of the A27, west of Arundel. Could easily be combined with a return visit to Tangmere and the museum, maybe when the weather improves!

I'll wave at you from the car today Zack, as I've decided to take my dad (and dogs) to Tilbury Fort - as I've never been there before ;D

Yes, a very interesting day, but bitterly cold there! There was lots of scaffolding still up, which was a shame, but glad I went. Also popped down to Coalhouse Fort, which I thought would be harder to find - very strange atmosphere there, although of course you could only walk around the outside. Would have been nicer if it hadn't been so cold!

I grew up in Arundel and live here still i have always heard about the woods being haunted but have never really believed it until i did have an unusual encounter with my friend while on bike ride we went quite deep and found what appeared to be a camp made from animal fur and tarpaulin when we went for a closer look there were severalold people gather around this was enough to freak us out it was only recently looking into the woods that i read about cult followings and wondered if what we found was something along those lines and have been interested to see if anyone else has had a similar experience!
