When we first started doing the website we visited some local sites one of which included St Michaels Abbey in Farnborough. the Abbey is an amazing building with gargoyles and outstanding acrhitecture and seemed like somewhere that would well be a little spooky for our shakedown tests.
Inside the crypt at the Abbey lay one of the Napolean Emperors, his wife and son who were in excile from France. I have lived in Farnborough all my life with the occasional couple of years in London here and there and have always thought until this year napoleans wife was called Caroline or Princess Caroline. Dont know where I got that information from just took it for granted and that was that.
After being up the back of the abbey until the early hours spooking ourselves with tales of ghosts wandering the grounds and monks and Princess Caroline living just down the road in the tudor style house and being scared witless by the large underground exhaust pipe that rumbles randomly through the night I was awoken by a voice in the morning saying its Eugen. I said "what?" as you tend to when your being woken and they said Eugene again twice. They then went on to say Dominic and Augustus at which point I was wide awake and must have had eyes like plates. I didnt catch anymore than that.
This was Monday morning I thought nothing of it until the Thursday when I was looking at the Farnborough Abbey website and found that Napoleans wife was called Eugenie. I had been wrong all these years and she was called Eugenie. I had never heard it before and was a bit surprised to hear it.
So was Eugenie folowing Paul and I home or was someone else letting me know about my lack of knowledge? Or was it pure coincidence?
I have since come to a few conclusions regarding the other name or names as well but Ill save it for another day.
