I live in Cambridgeshire, but had to go and stay for around a month in Farnborough Hampshire while my new house was built, as people moved into our old one. I was brought up in Farnborough as a kid and have many good memories of the place. While I was there for the month I did not have much to do, so I did a lot of walking around the places I used to play as a child, I suppose I was reminiscing. One of the most profound memories I have of being a kid in Farnborough was a unexplained experience I had in a house built in the early 80s that was built on an old world war 2 military hospital, where I saw the figure of a monk like person in a robe or monks abbot, the full experience can be found Here www.spooksuk.fslife.co.uk/page8.html
Since writing the story on the above link I have found out a few things about the local area that relates to my experience. Someone wanted a while ago to use my story in a book about ghosts and hauntings in Farnborough, and did some research on the house I saw the figure, and strangely enough he found out a neighbour had also seen or known about the same figure, which also knowing helped me know I was not the only one to have seen the figure, and that it was not all in my mind. Also I had found out that the hospital that was there before my house was built on the land, had monks visits it from a near by monastery ‘St Michaels Abbey’ to give the last rights and to pray for the dead and dieing soldiers that had returned home from fighting abroad in the war.

On one of my walks I decided to visit the old house I used to live in where I saw the strange figure, it had not changed much, other than it had much more floral things around the house and in the front garden. It was strange to see the house again after so long, I took a photo of it and then decided to walk to St Michaels the local monastery. When I arrived it was just as I remembered it, the whole thing is closed of to the public, and surrounded by a long fence, I remember as a kid being told stories about how spooky the place is, and how secretive the occupants are (not sure how much truth there is to that). I tried to look over the fence, but brambles and high gates made it impossible to see, and I must have looked like I was trying to break into the place, so I just put my camera over the top of the gate and snapped a shot (just out of curiosity) and continued on with my walk……. When I got home I had a look through all my photos on my camera, I did not have access to a PC so could only see them threw the cameras view finder, I saw on the photo I took inside the monastery from the fence of the parameter that there was something odd by a tree, I zoomed in on it and found a strange looking figure, I did not think much of it then because it was hard to see on the view finder. When I got home to my new home in Cambridge and could view all my photos on my PC, I zoomed in on the monastery photo saw the figure closer, it looked like a figure coming out from behind a tree, It can not be a member of the public as the whole place is closed of, and the side of the barbed wire fence that the figure is on is British rail land, and just a few yards from it is a huge drop down an embankment to the railway lines, the figure also looks too small to me a person compared to the tree. I do not know if this is anything supernatural, but I can not for the life of me come to a conclusion as to what it is, any opinions as to what you think it is, paranormal or not, would be appreciated.
