I did a little reading up on the subject of astral projection. One description said its a dream like state in which, unlike conventional dreams, you have total control over your movements and actions. This reminded me of an ability I had as a child, I could think of a place before going to sleep and visit it in my dream I could also control my actions in the dreams. This is something I've not been able to do in adult life. I'm wondering if my childhood experience was astral projection/travel of some kind, what do you guys think?
Simon.

Funnily enough I bought a book on exactly the same subject Saturday afternoon. I find it very interesting but have only dabbled so far.
Sounds a lot like Lucid dreaming Simon.

That sounds more like a past life regression or time slip. Though is there anything to say that when practising AP you cant travel up and down time lines? Interesting idea and maybe what we perceive as ghosts are people back in time dreaming or in a dream state accidentaly astro projecting into our time. Oh no got me thinking now...

Its theories like these that I often feel are more plausable than ghosts being spirit of the dead. As I said in another post I'm becoming more and more sceptical as to weather ghosts are connected to the spirit world at all. I like the stone tape theory, which to me is simply images of the past replayed and not connected to spirit. I feel remote viewing, astral projection, telekinesis and other such abilities are more likely a cause of paranormal experiences than spirits. These are things we may be capable of but don't know how to control so we believe spirits are involved when we're actually doing these things ourselves.
I've experienced some strange things while investigating the subject but nothing yet convinces me that spirits exist. Having said that I don't rule it out I just feel a lot of paranormal stuff can be explained.
