Mediums and Sensitives

This should be a good one though I would imagine most people who visit the forum probaly are a little biased but still worth a go.

I had to go for a "don't know" because out of the mediums that I have witnessed a lot of them have used very general statements that would apply to more than half of the population, also on the program I watched last night the medium got some information wrong and said it must be another spirit and she was getting mixed signals.
On the other hand I have witnessed ether very good guesses or information obtained from an inside source spirit or otherwise.

I voted "yes". I agree that there are people out there that claim to to be mediums & sensitives & pray on those in need of comfort after losing a loved ones. However I have recently attended an evening of mediumship & though some of what the medium picked up on was general , he also picked up on names & information that he couldn't have possible known. Some of the information was quite detailed.
I also attend an open circle at a spiritualist church and have amazed myself by being able to pick up information on people I've never meet before. On my last visit I picked up on a spirit of a young girl who was linked with a person in my circle.

I thought I'd be a little controversial and go for the No vote. I do feel that perhaps mediums are more intuative than most but don't think the information picked up is from spirits. From what I've seen there seems to be a lot more misses than hits but its the hits that people tend to remember so it seems all the more amazing.

i have been told some really good stories from friends who have had things told them by everyday normal people.

One friend told me her parents were approached on holiday in spain, by another woman also on holiday, who felt compelled to talk to her.

And told her loads of facts which were right, and have subsequently come true

so there are people out there with the gift, who don't do living tv programmes

True and I agree there are many people out there with an amazing gift of intuition or forsight but that doesn't mean they're communicating with spirits. I feel that most mediums/sensitives believe that they are contacting the otherside but you can't say for sure that this is whats happening. I believe that some form of telepathy on a subconscious level is at play here, various studdies have been conducted that pretty much prove you can send images and suggestions from one person to another with the power of the mind. And the scientific community is finally coming to turms with the fact that we do possess a 'sixth sence', a kind of blind sight or intuition that allows us to make unconscious descisions. Anyway I'm rambling on, these are just my views I'm not trying to make any enemies
