A couple of times now I have been doing a bit of dowsing and dried up on questions and after talking to Paul last night and Sam down at the caves I thought it might be worthy of discussion on here.
What do you ask a complete stranger once you have gotten past the basics of what sex they are etc. With the dowsing you get yes no and unknown/maybe so the questions have to be quite closed as opposed to when your channeling then you can have a little chat proper.
So your there with your Pendulum. You have established its a male spirit. He is Happy to talk. He doesnt mind you being there. What next?

I just thought of some good questions whilst reading the thread. It popped into my head. Depending on how you want to phrase it you could ask :-
Did you die/pastover here?
then depending on answer to the first question:-
Did you die/past over somewhere else?
Another way to phrase is :-
Are you grounded to this place?
then depending on that answer:-
Are you in visitation here?
These questions might help determine who the spirit may be in connection with the history of the location.

I wish I'd thought of it when we were standing around looking at each other wondering what to ask. I always get inspiration after the event ;D

A question we've been asking recently is what the age of the spirit is. I assume the answer the spirit gives is the age that they were when they passed over as spirits can be any age they wish from what I have read. We usually asked something along the lines of- "are you aged between 10 to 20, then 20 to 30 etc." Each time you receive a positive answer then narrow it down ie "did you between 20 to 25." I recently picked up on a 19 year old at The Hellfires by asking these questions. The girl had died in the caves (and not myself as the PT report have unfortunatley stated;D)

You can also use the alphabet to obtain a name by asking if the first letter ot the name begins with a A then B etc and go through all the letters, i have turned up names this way that have also checked out when researched after the investigation, at a recent invest at a service base there was no response till we started using the phonetic alphabet so i feel the type of establishment you are investigating and the way you then approach the investigation can have a relevant bearing on getting results. Best Wishes Big C.

Yeah, I've used the alphabet way of getting a name too. It can take a while can't it but it is worth pursuing. Sometimes a name will come to me but I do like to confirm it as much as possible. I recently experienced this at Berry Pomeroy when I was dowsing and I picked up on a male spirit. The name "Jack" came to me but I went through the alphabet anyway and was rewarded with a yes motion when I came to letter "J".

And with picking up on a name as you did it gives you something to go on and saves time, i also use numbers to find dates, age, years etc. Best Wishes Big C.

I think another good question is 'Do you know you are dead?' as it seems to me some soirits/ghosts are unaware of this and are in a state of confusion.
And how about 'Did you die naturally?' and/or 'Were you murdered?'
Simon.

Two excellent questions to ask, Simon. I agree that many spirits are unware or unwilling to accept they have passed over. Asking them if they know they are dead is a good idea though I suspect it might be a bit of a shock to the spirit who is unaware of their passing. In some way though I think that may help the spirit to "move on " once it realises its no longer on the earth plane. Establishing the means of death is good too as it can help to determine the nature of the spirit contacted i.e if they did not pass over from natural causes then you would know to be wary as the spirit may be angry due to them dying via an accident or from the hands of another.
